Beauty Deals That Give Money to Hurricane Relief

While many New Yorkers finally got their power back over the weekend, there are widespread reports that many still don't have access to hot water. To help in a small way, Wonderland Beauty Parlor in Manhattan's meatpacking district is offering a good hair-scrubbing, along with free blow-dry stations, for anyone who walks in tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Many retailers are also pitching in by donating a portion of sales to the cause. But here are some beauty-specific ways to help out:

  • Haven Spa is offering all services at 50 percent off through this Friday. They're encouraging customers to donate the money saved to a charity of their choice.

  • Aedes de Venustas is offering 10 percent off sales today at the West Village store and online, also in hopes that shoppers donate savings.

  • Kiss My Face is donating 50 percent of revenue from online product sales from now until Friday, November 9, to the American Red Cross for relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

  • Chantecaille will be donating 20 percent of their online sales to the Red Cross and ASPCA. This is immediately effective, through November 18.
