From Neon to Nude, See the Best of Couture Beauty Spring 2013

Now that we're properly into 2013, it's time to implement those beauty resolutions and if one of yours was to take chances, the Haute Couture shows are the perfect place to find inspiration. Whether you're looking to boost a smoky eye or just find a new everyday look, see our top picks for this season.

  • Zuhair Murad

A sepia toned eye works with most skin tones and all eye colors. This version is accented with soft pink shadow but is a perfect example of where a warm brown shadow can add drama to an everyday look.

  • Valentino

There's always one designer in couture who just does the most incredible soft and beautiful makeup look to accent an intricate and equally beautiful collection. This season it was Valentino and this glowing English rose look is one we'll definitely be recreating this spring.

  • Elie Saab

It takes a moment to understand just how this slicked updo works but once you've got it, it's clear that you could easily get it at home. Separate your hair into two sections and thoughtfully twist and tuck them around each other.

  • Armani Prive

The glossy red lip has gone slightly out of fashion in favor of it's matte sibling but it's time to bring it back. Nothing says femme fatale like a winged eye and a glossy red lip so take inspiration from Armani and integrate this look into your bank of evening looks.

  • Christian Dior

Nothing says high maintenance like a bejeweled lip but we would be remiss not to mention the gorgeous/insane lips at Dior. This might not be a look to try at home but it's certainly pretty to look at.

  • Chanel

It wouldn't be couture if there wasn't one completely outrageous beauty look. Most designers have played it quite safe this season but Chanel went wild with this dramatic smoky eye. Take inspiration from the look and rock a more smudged dramatic eye with a pale pink lip.

  • Versace

Versace's girl certainly isn't a wallflower and this pop of aggressive neon may be a bit too much for everyday but take inspiration from the bold look and add a pop of your favorite bright color into a standard smoky eye.

  • Alexis Mabille

It's rare that we think of metallics as a hair accent in terms of color and while this look might not be exactly practical it's an interesting play on the juxtaposition of nudes and metallics.

  • Maurizio Galante

Orange is still a bit of a taboo color when it comes to eye makeup but this look demonstrates a great way to build it into a subtle everyday look without the drama. Remember, less is always more and if you're not ready to take the full jump just yet, try working with a dark liner to break up the look.

Blue mesh mask aside, this look shows dramatic brows paired with a bright pop on the eyes and a peachy nude lip. if you want to work with a bold color such as the blue on the models' lids, make sure to balance your face with a subtle lip and a well shaped brow.
