How often do you see a pic of a celeb looking like a hot mess and wonder how, with all of the stylists, designers, makeup artists and Hunger Games-style prep teams behind this girl, did this happen? We do it a lot. That’s why we’ve created a game where we get to reimagine celeb style snafus—if only we were their stylists.
The outfit Ke$ha wore to host Pure Nightclub’s 8th Anniversary seemed inspired by rose petals scattered on black sheets, but was anything but sexy. I’ve heard of fire crotch, but the singer had definite flower crotch (thanks Perez Hilton) in this floral-covered negligee, which was made worse with her addition of shimmery ice skater tights. The only elements of this look worth saving are the Louboutins and maybe (but only because a lot of celebs seem to be set on making them a trend) the floral headband.

Maybe sealing the deal with Justin Timberlake has given Jessica Biel fashion confidence, but she should stick to her safer, girl-next-door style. The see-through crochet pants she wore to Timbaland’s birthday were probably meant to come off as directional, but ended up looking like leftovers from her time on That 70s Show. As if those pants weren’t bad enough, the top of this outfit looks like a nod to the new pope’s papal garments.

Rose McGowan’s coral dress at the Dukes of Melrose premiere was vintage Chanel, but those cargo pockets should’ve stayed in the 80s. While they totally predict the necessity to have a place to put your iPhone on the red carpet, they’re distracting and out of place. Without them, the look could’ve been seasonal and chic, although then I probably wouldn’t have been distracted from her new blonde ‘do—what happened to the vixen from Charmed I knew and loved?

Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt helped relaunch Beautiful Movements Cosmetics in London in a dress that, at first glance, gave her a serious case of VPL (visible panty line). Upon closer inspection, the copper and blue jewels were purposefully arranged to give the impression of undergarments showing through, which of course completely undermines the idea of the gown being a nude illusion. Grab a hot glue gun and scatter on a couple more of those blue jewels, and this could be a dazzling look.

Fergie’s style has never been my favorite, but ever since she started hanging out with Cher (they went shopping together in Paris), it’s taken a turn for the crazy. Here she is spotted at one of L.A.'s most sophisticated celeb lunching spots, The Ivy, wearing one of L.A.’s most zaniest accessory combinations: a peasant dress (with visible bra), feathery stole and fingerless gloves. One of these pieces could’ve been a cool statement on its own, but they combine for a look that says ‘kid playing dress-up in grandma’s attic.’

Gossip Girl actress Roxane Mesquida gave us a lot to gossip about at the Kiss of the Damned screening at SXSW. Her metallic Paco Rabanne dress was very cool in a flapper-meets-gladiator sort of way, but she must have noticed that the transparent top gave all her secrets away before she stepped out… which I guess is sort of cool in a French joie de vivre way, but is also sort of raunchy. Her styling is spot-on, though—a little lining would’ve gone a long way with this look.
