Who knew the humble daisy could be so supremely cool? Thanks to the fashion mastermind of Miuccia Prada, daisies are the ultimate symbol for spring. Her graphic style florals captured the imaginations (and hearts) of major front row wardrobes, with everyone from Anna Dello Russo to Anna Wintour sporting the sought after daisy designs. And it’s not only the catwalks that have the print firmly on their fashion radar but the high street has taken a tumble for this hot floral motif too. Expect to see everything from embellished bags, to embroidered dresses to ornate jewellery, all adorned with of-the-moment daisies.
Prada stamped the pop art florals onto contrasting palettes of red, black and white but you can too pack a powerful posy punch in subtler daisy pieces. Take inspiration from Alexa Chung and Chloe Mortez who opted for embroidered daisy Simone Rocha numbers. The prints innate 60s edge lends itself particularly well to simple shift dresses and A-line mini skirts, so if you shy away from bold prints, choose simple shapes with daisy motifs in a neutral palette. Or for the easiest way to update your look, add some daisy jewellery. We love this Alex Monroe daisy ring, perfect for giving a subtle nod to the trend. One thing’s for sure, this trend is definitely worth the picking!
