Victoria Beckham's The Outnet charity auction begins

The Outnet's reverse auction of 10 very special items from Victoria Beckham's wardrobe begins at 9.30am today - here you can see the first two items to be released for bids.

Two items will be put up for sale each day for the next five days - including the white Dolce & Gabbana dress worn to the 2003 MTV video music awards and the fluorescent-yellow Roberto Cavalli gown worn to the Beckhams' World Cup party in 2006.

At 9.30am today, you can get your hands on a red bomber jacket embroidered with 'Victoria' on the back, which was created for the designer to wear on tour with the Spice Girls. Then, at 5.30pm bidding will open for a Antonio Berardi pencil dress worn by Victoria in New York in 2008.

Auctioneers Christie's have given the Berardi dress a starting price of £3,500, while the jacket will begin at £1,500.

So, how does the a reverse auction work?

As a reverse auction, each item being sold will have a Starting Price and a Reserve Price. The Starting Price will reduce by a fixed amount every five minutes before it reaches its End Price over a period of six hours - unless the item is sold before the end of the sixth hour. An item is sold when a customer purchases the item at the Current Price listed.

But don't panic if your cash won't quite stretch to the 10 iconic items being auctioned, because the general sale of more than 600 items from Beckham's wardrobe also opens today with more purse-friendly prices.

All proceeds from the sale will go to mothers2mothers, a non-profit organisation that trains, employs and empowers mothers living with HIV.
