Freja Beha Erichsen In Maybelline's New Campaign: EXCLUSIVE IMAGES

Danish model and all round stylish lady Freja Beha Erichsen has been announced as the new face and brand ambassador of Maybelline New York.  Joining the likes of model Charlotte Free, Christy Turlington and Erin Wasson, Freya is the next lucky lady be utteringing the words ‘Maybe It’s Maybelline’ in her roles as a Maybelline ambassador. 

Speaking to WWD, Damien Bertrand, Maybelline’s global brand president said “Freja is an incredibly beautiful and confident woman.  Not only is she a top model for a new generation, but she is also a modern style icon off the runway. She truly captures the catwalk-to-sidewalk spirit of Maybelline.”  It’s not the first time Freya has been asked to be the face of a brand, you may have seen her face in H&M and Gap campaigns, but this is her first make-up campaign, which we think is long over due!    Congrats Freja! 

However, Freja is still in high-demand when it comes to walking the catwalk, making regular appearances on the runways of designer such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent, we'll be expecting to see her in the next couple of days as New York Fashion Week officially kicks off today, and as New York is officailly Maybelline's hub, we're hoping to catch up with Freya backstage to find out how she feels about her new signing.

All we need to see now are the new Maybelline campaign images starring Freja, which are due to appear this Autumn.  Can we expect a rocky, Freja style edge to the new Maybelline ad campaigns?  We’re thinking so.  But for now, check out the gallery to se some of Freya's finest catwalk moments.

Freja On Fashion:
Is fashion something you have always been passionate about?
Yes. Fashion is something I’m very passionate about because I think it offers people
a way to express themselves without saying a word.

How would you describe your fashion taste?
When I’m dressing for myself, I tend to go for simple outfits. Jeans, a t-shirt, and a
great leather jacket. For me, it’s about being comfortable and feeling like myself.

What’s your favorite piece in your wardrobe now?
My leather Balenciaga jacket. I've had it for many years, so it’s perfectly worn in, thin,
and soft.

What gives you confidence in your job as model and in life?
I trust in the flow. I know that everything will go the way it should, and that gives me
confidence to be myself in every aspect of my career and life.

Freja On Beauty:
How do you define “beauty”? What makes a woman beautiful?
It’s hard to define. You can notice it in an instant with just a glance, or it can be
deeper, like when she opens herself up and shares something very personal or
inspiring.

Did you learn any beauty tips or tricks from your mother?
My mother taught me the beauty of a well-balanced diet. She raised me to eat a lot of
organic fruits and vegetables.

I’m very grateful to be given this opportunity and it’s a pleasure to be working with the
talented creative team at Maybelline New York.

What was the first Maybelline New York product you ever used?
I was introduced to Maybelline New York products with Volum’ Express The Falsies
mascara. It worked really well, and I loved the instant effect.

Do you have a favorite Maybelline New York product?
In addition to the mascara, Eye Studio Master Drama eyeliner is one of my favorite
products.
