Cara Delevingne told playing Victoria Beckham in musical would be a 'career killer'

Cara Delevingne might be one of the most in-demand models of the moment - the bushy browed face of Chanel won Model of the Year at this week's British Fashion Awards - but don't expect to see her in a Victoria Beckham show or campaign anytime soon.

Although the fashion-centric two share the management services of entertainment mogul Simon Fuller, aspiring actress Cara turned down the role of designer Victoria Beckham in her Spice Girls heyday in the forthcoming West End musical Viva Forever, after being advised by her agent that it would be a "career killer."

A profile of Cara and her family in today's Evening Standard references an interview given to The Telegraph's Mandrake in 2011 (before she was a household name) in which the Burberry model said: "They said I looked like her and I said, 'That's not cool, that's really mean."

Ouch! Bedales-educated Delevingne starred alongside Keira Knightley with a miniscule role in this year's Anna Karenina remake. Her love of acting is clear as she recently told Grazia : "I want to be in movies, directing movies, writing movies. I'd love to be in a movie with Meryl Streep or Martin Scorsese. There are so many different things I want to do like a possessed child or an evil something, I don't know…."
