Carrie Underwood Tunes Up for the 40th American Music Awards

Jetting into Tinseltown ahead of her primetime performance, Carrie Underwood touched down at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, California on Saturday afternoon (November 17).

The casually clad country cutie shuffled through the metro terminal while later turning up at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live for her scheduled rehearsals for the 40th American Music Awards.

Aside from Miss Underwood, other acts getting in last day practice sessions included Justin Bieber, Cyndi Lauper, Linkin Park, Pitbull and Swizz Beatz while Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepsen, Psy, The Wanted, and No Doubt round out the ceremony's star-laden lineup.

Also looking to take home a little hardware, the 29-year-old "American Idol" alum is up for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for her latest studio effort, Blown Away, with winners to be crowned when the AMAs air live on Sunday (November 18) at 8/7C on ABC.
