Friday Fragrance Round-Up: One Direction's First Perfume, Dolce & Gabbana's Desire PLUS Amy Adams For Lacoste

It's Friday, we've got that weekend feeling and it seems that everyone's gone fragrance mad, what with a flurry of sweet-smelling news coming in from across the world. Here's the perfume news you need to know...

Friday Fragrance Round-Up: One Direction, Dolce & Gabbana and Lacoste News!

1. One Direction's First Scent

First up is one for all you One Direction fans, who’ll be delighted to hear that the English-Irish boy band is introducing a women’s perfume next Autumn. Whilst it’s fab news for us, it isn’t such a great thing for Justin Bieber to wake up to, what with him currently having a hold on the teen fragrance market. Might wanna up your game JB! WWD reported that the boy band have been working on the concept for about six months and we’ll have another six months until signs of the scent start appearing. It will go into department stores across the globe, first starting in markets where One Direction have been touring and then continue to roll out.

2. Dolce & Gabbana's One Desire

The second bit of fragrance goss that WWD has reported today is that Dolce & Gabbana are launching a new women’s eau de parfum. It will be titled ‘The One Desire’ and be fronted by the ever sexy and radiant Scarlett Johansson. It is estimated that the scent could bring in a whopping $150 million in retail sales in one year, edging D&G’s beauty line close to the billion-dollar mark. Exciting! P&G, the company behind the Dolce fragrances, said they were looking for something that made a woman feel desirable and exquisite, a scent you’d wear for a special occasion or memorable evening out rather than just something for daily wearing. It’s reported that there will also be significant print campaigns as well as a major TV ad (which will have a combined cost of $30 million to P&G!) to go with the fragrance – we can’t wait to see them.

3. Amy Adams For Lacoste

Last up this morning from WWD is the news that the new Eau de Lacoste women’s fragrance is hoping to hit the big-time with online markets with it’s ambassador, actress Amy Adams, prior to it’s in-store launch. From early January, the Lacoste brand’s 10.7 million Facebook fans will have a sneak preview of a video starring Adams who will be discussing the scent. They’ll even have a chance to sign up for a VIP sample of the scent (sign up now if you haven’t already people!). This nice introduction to the fragrance will begin in the UK and then roll out throughout next year to markets across the globe.
