Grazia Daily: How long have you been blogging?
Essie Button: I started blogging about two years ago which was right around the time I moved to England from Canada.
Grazia Daily: What made you decide to start your blog?
Essie Button: I had just moved to England and I can't lie-I was feeling rather lonely. My boyfriend was busy with University work so I spent a lot of time on my own. I managed to stumble upon the vast world of beauty blogging and after a few weeks of reading blog after blog I decided it was about time I started one myself! It kind of started as a way to occupy my time but it quickly became an obsession.
Grazia Daily: Which subjects do you particularly love blogging about?
Essie Button: Most of my posts are makeup related, but I'm trying to branch out into a few more lifestyle/DIY posts. I love cosmetics (especially lipstick), haircare and skincare but I try to mix it up every now and then.
Grazia Daily: Are there any particular perks of blogging?
Essie Button: A major perk of blogging is being able to share my obsession with people who actually care! There's only so much my family can take so it's nice to have a platform in which I can share my interests. I've also made a lot of friends through blogging which to me is one of the most important things. I feel like I am still new to London so being able to go to blogger events and mingle with the girls is really nice.
Grazia Daily: What are your favourite beauty brands?
Essie Button: At the moment I'm LOVING Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Caudalie and NARS of course.
Grazia Daily: Blog brag time: why should people read your blog?
Essie Button: You should read my blog if you're up for some casual chatter about beauty, enjoy wearing neutral colours on the eyes/ bold lips and don't take things too seriously! I'll be the first to say that I'm NOT a makeup artist and I'm not the most knowledgeable person in the world when it comes to cosmetics. But hey! You never know-you *might* learn a thing or two!
Grazia Daily: What advice do you have for anyone starting a blog?
Essie Button: This is always such a hard question for me to answer because I think it's important to learn as you go. That being said, a good camera doesn't hurt. Try to take photos in a room with as much light as possible. Just have fun with it and blog about whatever YOU want!
Grazia Daily: Which other beauty blogs do you love?
Essie Button: There are so many to choose from! I love Sleep and Water, Liana Beauty, Vivianna Does Makeup, What I Heart Today, Gemsmaquillage and Lipssofacto.
