Salvatore Ferragamo Celebrates 75 Years in London

This week, a very historic fashion moment took place in London in the form of Ferragamo reopening its boutique on Old Bond Street, marking 75 years in London. In honour of such a landmark occasion, the fashion elite pulled out their glad rags and hit The Royal Burlington Arcades at the heart of Mayfair for an exclusive celebratory dinner — invitation only, of course.

Party Night!

The night of celebrations kicked off with an A-lister cocktail party in the newly renovated building, with stylish celebrity guests including Jessica Alba, Camilla Belle (below right), and Amber and Yasmin Le Bon (below left). The Le Bons looked fittingly autumnal in matching mulberry tones, whereas Camilla dazzled in a mirror ball style dress, complete with a structured white coat to fight that cold London weather.

The Dinner

The house's Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti (below), was naturally also in attendance to officially mark such a pivotal night for the brand. After cocktails, all 180 VIP guests headed downstairs in The Royal Burlington Arcades for a lavish dinner where 10,000 Ferragamo red roses, and 700 Christmas candles festively decorated the hall.

Ferragamo’s Risky London Move

The first Ferragamo boutiques were opened way back in 1938 in Florence, Rome, and London, and at that time, choosing to open in London was deemed a risky decision. 75 years later and their London presence is still going strong, which proves that it was not such a bad move after all.
