Santas Skin is Red and Ruddy. Yours Should Not Be.

At this time of year, you're most likely bombarded with images of Santa Clause with a bright red nose and a ruddy red complexion. That looks great on the old guy with the white beard in the red suit, but it's not such a good look for you. Unfortunately, the cold, dry weather that comes with the holiday season means that many people are more likely to experience red, dry and irritated skin. What's the solution if you want to minimize redness in your skin this winter holiday season? Here are some tips from Murad!

Keep Using Sun Protection All Winter Long
Just because the calendar says "winter", it doesn't mean that the danger of UV rays is gone. Especially if it's snowy where you live, in which case you're getting both the direct rays of the sun as well as the rays that are reflected off of the snow's surface. Make sure that any exposed parts of your body are using UV protection every time you go outside. Too much sun can lead to redness as well as skin damage. Remember, you may be getting even more sun exposure in the winter than in the summer! Be sure to use skin care products with sun protection whenever you're outside!

Recommended Product: Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 20 | PA++
Lightly hydrate for all day moisture, prevent and minimize the signs of aging and get protection from daily exposure to UV rays.

"I have very oily skin and this moisturizer did not make it worse! My skin felt smooth but not greasy at all. Even at the end of the workday I was still hardly shiny at all! I am very excited about the Murad line." jennyh, North Carolina

Keep Hydrated Internally and Topically
Winter climates can be much more dry than typical. That means that it's even more important to stay both topically and internally hydrated. Be sure to use a lightweight daytime moisturizer with SPF protection as well as a more intensive, repairing nighttime moisturizer. But it's even more important to remain internally hydrated. Be sure to eat your water in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables as part of an Inclusive Health™ regimen as described in Dr. Murad's best-selling book, The Water Secret. Healthy skin is hydrated skin, and a healthy body is a hydrated body. Don't let dry winter weather turn your skin red and flakey. Make a topical moisturizer and a healthy hydration diet part of your inclusive regimen.

Used alone or beneath your makeup, this daily topical moisturizer is a must-have if your skin is prone to redness, flushing or dryness in the winter.

Red is a seasonal color, but not for your skin! Make sure to take steps to prevent redness and ruddiness this winter. If you're prone to redness in your skin, make sure that you have the right skin care products to treat and soothe red and dry skin.
