Raquel Zimmermann is consummately elegant, and her appearance in Salvatore Ferragamo’s Spring 2013 ad campaign only reinforces that. Photographed by David Sims, the campaign also stars the chiseled (seriously, I think his cheekbones could possibly cut diamonds) Sean O’Pry. The team sought to portray a kind of timelessness and intensity while displaying Creative Director Massimilliano Giornetti’s collection with a set consisting of a seasonless sky and salty vegetation among black, windswept sand.
The sleek Ferragamo clothing (styled by Marie-Amélie Sauve) among the somewhat barren landscape is a story in contrasts in the menswear shots in which O’Pry models colorful jackets in fiery red hues. In the womenswear shots, the clothes and the landscape are much more complementary, but I think both versions work beautifully.
On another note, is anyone else dying over how amazing that cream trench is? Because I know I can’t be the only one. I’m just going to pretend that I’m Raquel Zimmermann for a second – that way I can be wearing that trench, and I’ll have a better chance of finding Sean O’Pry if I’m in that sparsely populated landscape with him.
