Everyone wants dewy skin these days, but backstage at Creatures of the Wind, it was matte skin that ruled. James Boehmer, director of global artistry for Nars, drew the attention instead toward shimmery, universally flattering rose-gold eye shadow. "Nude colors are usually diffused onto skin, like a wash," he said of the hue, so he created an exaggerated, look-at-me cat-eye with the brand's creamy Multiple stick in Maldives, then patted the rose-gold powder shadow — called Nepal — on top. Pale lips were moistened by Nourishing Eye Cream, of all things, and Nars's clear brow gel (available next fall) gave brows a "sprouty look with a tiny bit of sheen."
