Cara Delevingne plans to buy 20 issues of her first Vogue cover

Bushy-browed British model Cara Delevingne was crowned Model of the Year at last year's British Fashion Awards, and if her popularity in 2013 already is anything to go by, she could be on to two consecutive wins.

Picked by British Vogue as the solo cover star of its March issue, the Londoner can't quite believe her luck, telling Vogue.co.uk: "I'm only 20 years old, it's such an amazing thing to be asked, it's incredible."

The Burberry favourite has racked up campaigns for Chanel, DKNY, Zara, Opening Ceremony and found time to mime to Shania Twain's That Don't Impress Me Much in-between shooting covers for Love and Style.com.

And the significance of snagging the March issue isn't lost on Cara, whose older sister Poppy is a front-row fixture at the shows.

"It doesn't really sink in until you actually see it - that cover, that actual magazine, you know Vogue is so great; especially the March issue is the big fashion issue, the big thick one, it's gonna be pretty amazing, I'm gonna run out of the shops with 20 in my hand just like 'Oh my god! this is me!'"

Miss Delevingne has made no secret of her acting ambitions and enjoyed a small role in Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley, but for now the film world will just have to wait, for Cara is regaling the fashion pack far too much.
