The last episodes of the second series of Borgen ('like The Killing but more bureaucratic' as Mark Corrigan from Peep Show put it) are rapidly approaching and I am in fear for my Saturday nights without Birgitte Nyborg's well-cut jackets and intriguely long and fearsome sleeve lengths.
So I was delighted to stumble across a new Danish stylista, who looks a bit like Birgitte might on a date-night with that devilish chauffeur she had a one-night stand with (see episode four). She's Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and this week she was at the Malene Birger fashion show in Copenhagen.
The Crown Princess is 40, married to the heir apparent to the Danish throne and has four children. She's wearing a navy cape. A cape, Duchess of Cambridge - top that!
I'm not sure that I've seen matching gloves and clutch before but I don't feel offended. It's probably very cold in Copenhagen right now. Anyway, she's got bang-on-trend cropped trousers, an elegant pair of Mary Janes and her shirt has an interesting sleeve, which I'm thinking must be a Danish thing right now (will do more research).
The look is more romantic than Birgitte would go for in office but the Crown Princess probably has far less bureaucracy in her life. I look forward to more viewings.
