She has captured the imagination of many with Girls, offering a candid and often cringe-worthy take on a group of twenty-somethings trying to make their way in New York, and now Lena Dunham has a fashionable new assignment in the works.
The 26-year-old writer, director and star of the hit TV show is thought to be teaming up with the programme's executive producer, Jenni Konner, to write a pilot for a series about 85-year-old Betty Halbreich, report Deadline.
Halbreich launched a personal shopping service at the iconic Manhattan department store Bergdorf Goodman in 1976 - and still works there today aged 85.

Having worked as a style advisor for the likes of Meryl Streep, Joan Rivers and Sarah Jessica Parker, Halbreich's soon-to-be-released memoir, All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go, will chronicle her career as a stylist and confidante to the cosmopolitan island's rich and famous.

"Betty is honest," TV personality Joan Rivers said of Halbreich in an interview with New York magazine. "She doesn't tell you that something is you, then you get home and try it on and it looks backwards. It's like shopping with a friend. With her, you never feel pressured. I do all my shopping through Betty unless I can get something wholesale."

American TV network HBO purchased the rights to the book and have confirmed Dunham's involvement in the project, but have not yet officially announced the show. Girls , now in its second series on Sky Atlantic in the UK, won an Emmy Awards last year and scooped two awards at last month's Golden Globes.
While the string vests worn by Dunham's dishevelled character in Girls leave a lot to be desired, you can bet that All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go will be set to rival that other fashion-centric (and sorely missed) Manhattan-based TV series, Sex and the City.
