1. Atari Ya
Atariya.co.uk
If you’re a sushi lover like me and eat it like it’s going out of fashion then a visit to Atari Ya is a must! There are a few branches scattered around London and it’s perfect for a takeaway Sushi dinner. The sushi is some of the best I’ve tried and the prices are without a doubt the lowest I’ve paid! The Temple Fortune branch also has a Japanese supermarket and a sushi bar so I often stock up on Japanese goods there.
2. Vrisaki
73 Myddleton Rd, London, Greater London N22 8LZ
When you walk into the small kebab shop that looks like all the others there is no way you’d expect a huge, buzzing Greek restaurant through the back door. This Greek restaurant is the hidden gem of North London where you can get a feast for two for £38 and when I say feast, I mean feast! We somehow often work our way through around 5 courses of authentic Greek food and it’s always delicious.
3. Fabrizio
Fabriziolondon.co.uk
Down the bottom of Highgate hill, just before you reach Archway you’ll find a little Italian restaurant run by the friendliest Italian man in London, Fabrizio. It’s a family feel restaurant with some of the best Italian food imported over from Rome (by Fabrizio’s mother!) and a relaxed, comfortable environment. You’ll always get treated well at this place and it’s a refreshing to see so much passion and genuine love for Italian food from the staff.
4. Ginger & White
Gingerandwhite.com
Whether you’re stopping for a quick takeaway coffee, meeting a friend for breakfast or catching up on some much needed laptop and tea time, Ginger & White is the perfect café. The Belsize Park branch is my favourite and my tip would be to order the boiled egg and soldiers! Yum!
4. Drink, Shop & Do
Drinkshopdo.com
When I discovered this place a couple of years ago I was so excited and haven’t stopped telling people about it ever since! When you walk in it looks like a gift shop, then you walk to the back and it looks like a vintage café, but then you realise there’s even more to it than that. They offer the best afternoon tea including a ‘Man’s Afternoon Tea’ and a ‘Royal Afternoon Tea’, they also offer classes such as ‘1920s Headband making’ and ‘Vintage Pin-Up Hair and Makeup’ lessons… the list goes on! It’s a great place for a birthday, a hen do, a baby shower, but it’s also just perfect for afternoon tea and fun with your girlfriends.
