Now that Brazilian super Alessandra Ambrosio has reached the pinnacle of her Victoria's Secret career - the 31-year-old modelled the lingerie brand's $2.5 million jewel encrusted Fantasy Floral set at the 2012 show - she is setting her sights on creating her own line of fashion.

Following in the footsteps of fellow catwalk-queens-turned-designers Cindy Crawford and Elle Macpherson, Ambrosio will use her experience in the fashion industry and her $6.6 million income as Forbes' sixth top model earner (for 2011 to 2012), to helm her own lifestyle empire, Alé. Her target audience? 18-to 35-year-olds looking for clothes that emulate the mother-of-two's relaxed Malibu-dwelling style.
Naming Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana and John Galliano as designers Ambrosio has learned from while modelling, Alé will carry a variety of accessibly priced clothing and accessories, all channelling the beauty's penchant for boho chic, body-conscious and colourful clothes.

"This is not a hobby for me," Ambrosio told WWD on her design venture. "I've been a fashion model for 15 years and designing is just an extension of my career. I still plan on modelling lingerie, but at the same time this is a business transition that I plan to have around for a long time."
Alé will debut in spring 2014 in as yet unconfirmed but well-known department stores and specialty chains worldwide, in collaboration with global brand management company, Cherokee .
