This morning was a very exciting one. Grazia headed to the Soho Hotel where Chime For Change – a global campaign for girls’ and women’s empowerment founded by Gucci – made a very special announcement.
This summer, on June the 1st, there will be a concert to end all concerts. The Sound Of Change Live will have none other than the campaigns artistic director BEYONCE! headlining. And, as if that wasn’t amazing enough, there will be a whole host of other inspiration women there as well. From Florence and the Machine, to HAIM, Rita Ora and super cool new Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Yes, there has been some squealing in the office this morning.
Speaking at the launch Salma Hayek, who is on the committee for Chime for Change said she aims to ‘turn awareness into meaningful action,’ whilst Beyoncé reavealed in a video for the campaign, ‘We need to call for change in the loudest voice possible. ‘I am excited for us to come together on June 1st to bring the issues of Education, Health and Justice for girls and women to the world stage.’
Tickets will go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning and for the first time ever concert goers will be given the opportunity to donate the value of their ticket to a non-profit opportunity of their choice. If all this wasn’t exciting enough there will also be a series of short films shown on the day which will highlight issues facing women and girls around the world.
Tickets go on sale from 9am Wednesday, March 27 at www.chimeforchange.org
