Ooops! Taking Care of Bruises as Part of Your Skin Care Regimen

Can healing the bruise be part of your skin care regimen? Absolutely.

Step One: Understand the Life Cycle of a Bruise
How does a bruise form? When you bump into something, a handful of blood vessels get broken. That results in blood seeping into the surrounding tissue. The body recognizes that the blood in the tissue as a "wound" and sends in red and white blood cells to begin the healing process. As those blood cells interact, the bruise changes colors. When the hemoglobin fighting the wound has oxygen in it, the bruise is red. When the hemoglobin loses the oxygen, the bruise turns blue or purple. Hemoglobin then gets over-ridden with a kind of white blood cell called microphages which result in the bruise turning green. As those breakdown further, the bruise turns yellow, and, finally, iron is released and the bruise turns brown.

Step Two: Prevent Bruising Proactively
If you've just bumped into something and know that a bruise is likely on the way, you can help to minimize and prevent it by taking all of the following steps:
-       Ice the bruise
-       Keep the area elevated
-       Apply gentle pressure to massage away the blood that's attracting the red and white blood cells
-       Take Ibuprofen to help reduce swelling. Do not take aspirin as it's a blood thinner and could actually make your bruise worse.

While taking the above steps may not prevent your bruise from forming entirely, they should help to reduce the severity.

Step Three: Treat Your Bruise Topically
Once your bruise develops, the best way to treat is internally with Inclusive Health™ practices, but you can also treat it topically. Topically, you want to use products that will stimulate and increase circulation in the area. Massage the bruise regularly and apply heat.

Step Four: An Inclusvie Health approach to Treating Your Bruises
A bruise, like any other kind of damage to your body, will heal faster if you feed your body with all the raw materials it needs to create healthy new cells and tissues.  That's why it is critical that you always Eat Your Water and use the Dr. Murad's Pitcher of Health to guide your nutritional choices.

Step Five: Conceal Your Bruise
Finally, while your bruise is healing, don't be shy about trying to conceal it. At first, your bruise may be too dark to conceal, but as it fades a great makeup concealer can do the trick. Just make sure that you pick one that's also healthy for your skin.
