In what is arguably her most fashionable role to date, Keira Knightley has eschewed her 'uniform' of period costumes to play legendary fashion designer Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel.

In a teaser released by the French fashion house today, Knightley, the face of the brand's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, is shown in cahoots with French actress Clotilde Hesme, who plays her aunt, Adrienne. Top American teenage model, Lindsey Wixson, stars as one of the impeccably-dressed women strolling around the town's promenade.
'Once Upon a Time...' is set in 1913 in Deauville, the glamorous holiday destination in Normandy, northern France. Chanel opened her first store there with the backing of her then lover, Arthur 'Boy' Capel.

The film also stars models Stella Tennant, Jamie Bochert, Caroline de Maigret alongside Lagerfeld's muse Lady Amanda Harlech and her daughter Tallulah, as well as male Chanel favourites Baptiste Giabiconi, Sébastien Jondeau, Jake Davis and Brad Kroenig and his son Hudson - who also happens to be Lagerfeld's godson.
The mini-film will be revealed in full on May 8, at the Raffles Hotel, where Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld will reveal his Cruise 2014 collection for the brand.
