Manic Milla Jovovich Covers Vogue Turkeys May Issue (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Turkey May 2013 - Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich covers the May issue of Vogue Turkey and I have to admit, I find myself having mixed feelings about it. I’m a big fan of hers (I used to bring her picture to the salon with me and got some of my favorite haircuts that way) and I’m kind of digging her manic smile and the over-the-top “M” and “J” cuffs she’s wearing, but that drawn on beauty mark really irks me for some reason. Milla is beautiful, alluring and interesting as is – no need to draw stuff on her face to theoretically make her look better. Also of note? She’s not wearing any clothes. I haven’t decided if that’s a problem since she’s clearly been accessorized, but this is a fashion magazine. Forum members were decidedly split in their opinions as well.

“I've always loved her manic smile,” Psylocke laughed. “I think this is pretty cool! I found the last few months to have been completely unremarkable efforts by Vogue Turkey to do something different, while this somehow works for me. I like the colors, too,” she added.

Urban Stylin was feeling it. “I love it! Only an old school supermodel can do such a cover justice,” he wrote.

Elle_gb posted, “The cover is weird but I quite like it. I like to see change and awkwardness. People would definitely at least glance at this cover.”

Congacon was not a fan. “This is probably the worst Vogue Turkey cover ever. Totally awful!” he exclaimed.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call it totally awful, but I definitely expect more from a Milla Jovovich cover. Though I really want to love it, I just can’t. Not all the way, anyway. (Though I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t cop to the fact that the cover has been growing on me each time I glance it. Milla has special powers like that.)
