Quentin Jones hosting the Hoss Intropia event in their Long Acre store, London
Quentin Jones must be the slash generation’s head girl: she’s an illustrator, animator, filmmaker, Cambridge philosophy graduate and one of fashion’s most exciting young talents who has already been snaffled by Victoria Beckham. Spanish label Hoss Intropia are next to sign up the talents of London-based Miss Jones as she becomes their ‘Intropia Woman’. Each season the brand finds an inspirational female figurehead and she follows in the footsteps of supermodel Helena Christen and Tamara Rojo, the Aristic Director of the National English Ballet. In addition to modelling some of this season’s prettiest creations, Quentin has also designed a tote bag for charity*. We caught up with the busy lady to chat scribbles, VB-love and her Intropia moment…

GraziaDaily: How does it feel to be chosen as the Intropia woman and to sit beside other amazing ladies like Helena Christensen and Tamara Rojo?
Quentin Jones: Extremely flattering! Not only are the Hoss ladies beauties but they all have had interesting and really varied careers. I think it is a nice thing for a brand to think about who their customers would like to relate to, not just who they would like to look like.
GraziaDaily: How did you go about designing the bag? And what were you influenced by?
Quentin Jones: We did a bunch of sketches and just tried to think about what I would like to carry around with me. I knew I wanted it to have graphic faces on it, and feel like it had been scribbled on.

GraziaDaily: You've also worked with a very influential woman - Victoria Beckham! - can you explain what it was like to discover that you'd got that job? How it was to work with her, and how it has impacted on your career so far?
Quentin Jones: I think she is one of the few ladies I have been genuinely star-struck in front of. She has such a famous face, it makes you worried you are just starring at it to see if it is as you expected. Her personality was what really surprised me though - she was funny and in kind of a naughty way which I like. Obviously working with a household name helps get a new artist recognition, but I am not sure that would be a reason to take on a project alone. The whole thing felt like a good step in my career, and mostly for creative reasons.
GraziaDaily: Who do you look up to as an iconic female figure?
Quentin Jones: Patti Smith, Marlene Dumas... and my mum!

GraziaDaily: What is your personal style like right now? And what would you pick from the Hoss collection for S/S'13?
Quentin Jones: I would say I am a tom-boy by day, obsessed with jeans and black ankle boots. But I also love dressing up - the most important thing for me is visual contrast. I would always choose a scruffier shoe if my outfit is a bit prim, and prefer to wear full-on heels with jeans and t-shirts. I love the lace cardigans and matching skirts from Hoss. I got them in black and the cream colour, and wear them non-stop.
GraziaDaily: Did you ever imagine that you'd be at this point in your career now? And what do you hope for the future?
Quentin Jones: I think the truth is that I never really imagine what I would do - I was just worried it wouldn't all work out. I feel so so lucky to be doing something I love. I think I maybe love it a little too much right now, and in the future I hope to get more of a balanced life with more time for family and weekends.
*The bag is now available in Hoss Intropia stores for £60 with all proceeds will be donated to the women’s charity Creative Handicrafts http://www.creativehandicrafts.org
