It's one of the most beloved underdog stories of all time, and "Rocky" is getting the Broadway treatment beginning next spring.
According to an announcement over the weekend, "Rocky: The Musical" will hit the Winter Garden Theater for previews in February 2014, with opening night scheduled for March.
The original "Rocky" star Sylvester Stallone penned the script along with Tony-winning writer Thomas Meehan, and Alex Timbers has been tapped to fill the director's chair.
As for the all-important score, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens have it covered, and will utilize some of the original film soundtrack material as well.
