Commuters on the M25 are in for a treat!
Here at Grazia, we’re not afraid of a challenge. Last year we worked with the UK’s top milliners to put hats on the heads of London’s most iconic statues as part of our Hatwalk extravaganza. This year, we're pushing ourselves several steps further with a misson to beat the record for the world’s longest catwalk. Oh yes!
The Guinness Book of Records achievement currently resides with the Wijnegem Shopping Centre in Belgium where in October 2011 70 models took 35 minutes to walk the entire length of a constructed 1.4 miles (7,519 ft.) of runway. Those are some tough shoes to fill! So where in the UK are we going to a space large enough to accommodate a bigger catwalk, we hear you ask. Well look no further than the M25.
On the big day, due to take place this summer, drivers between the A3 and M4 will be treated to a pop-up runway - or rather ROADway! - show featuring 1000 models strutting their stuff down a catwalk built by a team of experts usually responsible for creating the swankiest of red carpets.
If that wasn't enough, our fashion girls will also be taking the opportunity to Style Hunt chic communters who watch the world record attempt from their cars. We'll feature the best of these Rush Hour looks right here on Grazia Daily. We’re delighted that a fashion show is to be responsible for stopping traffic - and not just because of the wacky creations that leave the runway this time!
Later in the year we're also hoping to set the record for the World's Highest Catwalk as a group of runway superstars Abseil off the side of The Shard, London's 802 ft and 95-storey skyscraper, wearing the season's hottest creations.
