Giambattista Valli is readying himself to launch a second ready-to-wear line, named Giamba, after the nickname given to him by his closest friends.
The line is not a diffusion of secondary line, but another ready-to-wear collection that will sit alongside and complement his main `line, Giambattista Valli Paris
"Although still sharing the timeless, ageless and effortless spirit that is the hallmark of the Giambattista Valli Paris collections, with Giamba the designer will express a different yet complementary philosophy, stemming from the need to develop another aspect of his personality," reads the statement announcing the addition.

Valli will produce two seasonal collections in addition to two pre-collections for Giamba each year. The seasonal collections will be shown at Milan Fashion Week, debuting in September this year, while his mainline and couture collections will continue to show in Paris.
"There is also a playful, underground and sexy side in me and in my designs that you will see in the Giamba line," Valli told WWD. "I've been thinking about it for a while and waited for the right time, and now it's matured. I am really very happy."
Italian-born, Central Saint Martins-trained Valli launched his eponymous brand in 2005, adding Haute Couture in 2011.
