
The family of Louise Wilson has expressed their "deep gratitude for the many condolences they have received in appreciation of her immense life's work."
The Central Saint Martins fashion professor died in her sleep on May 17, aged just 52. She had been head of the college's prestigious MA Fashion course since 1992 and had tutored the likes of Alexander McQueen, Phoebe Philo and Christopher Kane.

In the statement her family added that details of a fund "to honour Professor Louise Wilson's profound belief in access to fashion education" will be announced in due course.
A private funeral for Wilson will be held in Scotland, where Wilson was raised, with a more public memorial to celebrate her life taking place in London later this year. She is survived by her partner, Timmi, and their son, Tim.
