Breaking news coming out of Paris is that the Kimye wedding cake has suffered an enormous disaster en route to Italy! Quel dommage! Versailles most famous former resident, Marie Antoinette, may have famously declared of her French subjects: ‘Let them eat cake!’but now it looks like Kim and Kanye’s subjects might not.

Sources on the ground tell us that the giant confection of gold and cream filled finest French pastry got smashed en route to Florence. A peril of a last-minute country-change if ever we heard one.

‘The cake incident was a disaster,’ said a source in Paris. ‘It was a huge, beautiful cream filled white and gold confection, but it toppled during the drive to Italy. It’s caused catering chaos.’ Or Katering Khaos. ‘Kim’s been really upset about it and emergency pastry chefs have been called in to try and salvage the situation...’ There's even talk of helicopters being drafted to prevent any further damage.

We'll keep you posted as and when we have any further gateaux updates...meanwhile, following last night's extraordinarily lavish party at Versailles, guests are currently jetting to Florence for the Italian leg of proceedings.

Word on the ground is that some guests are feeling a tad irked at this last minute change of plans with some even asking whether they can skip Italy and remain in Paris where the party will return on Sunday.

There are also reports that the step-father of the bride, Mr Bruce Jenner is also feeling somewhat ratty, with claims he's bored, is having Kris bark orders at him round the clock and wishes he could have stayed at home. Poor Brucie.

Meanwhile it seems last night's party and performance from Lana Del Rey finally made the groom crack a smile! Hurrah! We'll keep you posted on cake drama...
