Celebrity Style Magazine: Pucci's Peter Dundas Designs Poppy Delevingne's Wedding Dress (& Bridesmaid Tux For Cara Too)

Home to Yves Saint Laurent and the mecca of the 60s and 70 bohemian scene, Marrakesh is the destination for anyone hoping to channel true hippy chic. Little wonder then that model Poppy Delevingne chose the Moroccan city as the destination for the blessing of her marriage to beau James Cook this weekend.

Held in La Mamounia, Marrakesh’s most feted hotel, the stage was set for all manner of wafting chiffon, native jewellery and kaftan cool. The question was: what would Poppy wear? While her London based wedding was all about her couture Chanel dress by Karl Lagerfeld, in Morocco there was only one designer she could have asked to create her stunning posy embroidered gown.

Peter Dundas, the Norwegian Creative Director who has been installed at Pucci since 2008 is the expert when it comes to bohemian jetset style with a heavy dose of hippy era nostalgia. His muses include Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg – think rockstar girlfriends of the 60s and 70s.

The dress he created for Poppy perfectly reflected that mood with embroidered pastel flowers strewn across a sweeping two tiered silhouette. With lacing detail at the décolletage, and billowing chiffon sleeves, the gown immediately recalled the louche glamour of Talitha Getty.

Peter also designed a lace suit for bridesmaid Cara Delevingne which was finished with a white floral garland. The single button tuxedo jacket was cut deeply while the trousers featured a low waistband and flare. There's no doubt Poppy's Moroccan blessing is one of the most stylish nuptials we've seen for a long while - Kimye who? Congrats to the Delevingne clan!
