Taylor Swift's New York City Street Style, Decoded

Taylor Swift's New York City street style, decoded.

Since taking up residence in her Tribeca apartment in New York City in March, Taylor Swift has made quite the impression with her Big Apple style.

With chic headwear, an endless assortment of lace-up oxford heels, and ladylike bags, the "Red" singer, 24, has inspired Us to step up our fashion game.

Here's a how-to for nabbing Swift's NYC street style.

When in doubt, add stylish headwear.

Swift has been spotted in hats, headbands, and sparkling hair accessories that elevate her otherwise casual clothing.

Reveal just one body part at a time.

Always a lady! Swift showcases just one body part at a time—her long legs in a short shorts or her arms in a fit-and-flare dress.

Always, always carry a ladylike purse.

The "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer rarely leaves her home without clutching to her Dolce & Gabbana Agata top-handle purse (with a curious velociraptor-like grasp!).

Hit the streets in sensible shoes.

No sneakers for Swift! Instead, she opts for lace-up oxford heels for most of her city outings—with the occasional pump and loafer mixed in.

Victoria's Secret models make great accessories.

When you're 5-foot-10-inches and like to wear heels, you may dwarf your girlfriends. Unless, that is, your BFFs are models. Swift is regularly seen with arm candy like Karlie Kloss and Lily Aldridge near her Manhattan apartment.
