The Next Designer To Collaborate With Target Is... Joseph Altuzarra

Earlier this year UK shoppers had their first taste of Target's bargainous designer collaborations, thanks to Net-A-Porter selling the Peter Pilotto collection internationally. It was one big shopping frenzy with three orders placed every second on launch day. We'll now be able to get our hands on another of their designer collabs without crossing the pond. Target have just announced that they have teamed up with... drumroll please... the New York wonderkid Joseph Altuzarra.

On September 14th, Net A Porter will stock a 28-piece selection of the 20-piece collection. They sent us over some monochrome-tastic goodies to mark the launch including a Diptique candle, white orchids, a teasing sketch and a black lace mask (which we believe is part of the collection).

"As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel," said Joseph Altuzarra. "I've admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in women everywhere."

So who is Mr Altuzarra? The 31-year-old designer launched his own New-York based label back in 2008, after starting his career interning at Marc Jacobs and then working at Proenza Schouler. He them moved to Paris where he worked as Riccardo Tisci's assistant at Givenchy. When it comes to accolades, you could never accuse Altuzarra of underachieving with both a CFDA Award for his womenswear design and recognition of his talents within the business community. He also has a starry fan club, as Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Kidman have worn his designs on the red carpet.

"Altuzarra is known for his impeccable tailoring, stylish outerwear and fresh perspective on femininity. Net-A-Porter.com customers will love this truly identifiable Altuzarra collection; from the classic shirts, tailored split pencil skirt and sleeveless tux dress - the vibe is completely aligned with Joseph's main line," said Ben Matthews, Net-A-Porter buying manager. "Having supported the brand from the early stages and following the success of Peter Pilotto's range with Target, we cannot wait to bring this unique collaboration to a new audience."

Let the hype begin...
