Back to the Big Apple! Three days after she made headlines for skipping Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's much buzzed-about European wedding, Beyonce returned to New York City from her Memorial Day getaway in the Hamptons with husband Jay Z.
Stepping out in Manhattan on Tuesday, May 27, the "Drunk in Love" singer looked primed for summer in a lightweight pink blouse and a white crochet pencil skirt, which she wore with a nude patent-leather belt and silver peep-toes. Her long hair hung in braids that fell to her thighs, and she sucked on a lollipop as she walked.
As previously reported, the Grammy winner, 32, and her rapper hubby, 44, were expected to join stars including John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Serena Williams at the big Kimye wedding in Florence, Italy, on May 24. However, they bailed in favor of a trip to the Hamptons.
Had they gone to the ceremony, they would have run into fashion designer Rachel Roy, whose interaction with Jay Z at the Met Ball sparked the now-infamous elevator incident with Bey's sister Solange Knowles. "They didn't want to detract from Kanye's day," a source tells Us of the superstar couple.
They sent their love, though. After Kardashian, 33, and West, 36, said "I do" on Saturday, Beyonce shared a picture from the newlyweds' recent Vogue spread, along with this message: "Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family."
