Over the English Channel the great and the good of the tennis world are completing the final stages of the Roland Garros 2014 Tennis Tournament. At the French Open, unlike Wimbledon with its strict policy of a white wardrobe only, the players are allowed to serve up any outfit they wish and the racket wielding demi gods and goddesses have certainly been showing their flair for fashion in perhaps the chicest city of them all. So if you are looking for some inspiration to sassify your sporting apparel look no further than the likes of Maria Sharapova and Rafa Nadal. Here are the five trends you should take from the French red clay to your local treadmill, prepare to witness the fashion fitness…

1. Join The Block Party

Bored of the usual all black ensembles on the rowing machine? Well move on from monochrome and tackle bold colour blocking a-la Maria Sharapova with her pink mesh dress with a zesty orange slash across the chest. With a rather cheeky hemline the one woman brand teamed her dress with a pair of modesty saving shorts in the same colour of the orange stripe. Not one to leave a style stone unturned Sharapova placed a snazzy strap on the back in a clashing colour on a design which comes from her own Nike collection.

2. Be A Babe In A Bandana

Nadal is a babe in a bandana and if you want to keep your hair safely out of your sweaty brow in the most sports lux way possible then brave it in a bandana too.

3. Be A Vision In A Visor

Maria Sharapova is quite possibly the chicest sportswoman of all time and has serious style on and off the court. On court she has worn everything from 1930s inspired tailored shorts to genuine gold trainers and the best part is she designers it all herself. One thing is definitely consistent in her chicness, a visor. Perfect for a summer run in the park.

4. Have A Tropical Treat

In case you didn’t know, we will let you into a little secret… H&M designs truly fabulous sportswear. So much so top ten player and Semi-Finalist at this year’s French Open, Tomas Berdych has chosen to wear a collection from the high street retailer which was customised especially for them. With Hawaiian prints absolutely everywhere why not wear it on the tennis court? Following on florally, Agnieszka Radwanska opted for an equally tropical floral display. If you want to be the most fashion fit then look no further than this trend.

5. Kick Up A Storm In Snazzy Sneakers

Bored of lacklustre kicks? Well then, get yourself down to Nike Town and get yourself something flashy and fashy like the Wimbledon darling, Serena Williams. Maybe don’t copy her grunting too… no one wants to hear that in Body Pump it may distract them from lusting after your kicks and everyone wants their wears to be winners.

And Finally What To Wear Courtside...
