You might not have heard of Harper's Bazaar's new cover star, Emma Ferrer. But there is no mistaking her Hollywood connections in this Audrey Hepburn themed cover shoot. Yep, the almond-eyed beauty is the granddaughter of Audrey Hepburn.
Emma is the daughter of Sean Hepburn Ferrier - Audrey's first child with her first husband Mel Ferrer. Emma - who was born the year after Audrey died in 1993 - has stayed out of the spotlight. She spent much of her childhood in Audrey's country house in Switzerland.

She doesn't want to be an actress like her grandmother, but did study ballet like Audrey. She is now an art student in her third year at Florence Academy of Art and is planning to move to New York to continue her studies.

In the shoot Emma recreates classic Audrey Hepburn looks and poses. Interestingly, she is photographed by Michael Avedon, the grandson of Richard Avedon who famously photographed Audrey. A good fact for you: Dick Avery in Funny Face is based on Richard Avedon.

In the interview Emma watches her grandmother in Sabrina with writer Pamela Fiori. She says that she hasn't seen all of the Hepburn films. She said: “when I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, I enjoyed it the same way any young girl would.” She added: "I've seen My Fair Lady and Roman Holiday, but I suppose my favourite is Funny Face."
She says of her relationship with Audrey: "As a child I couldn't really relate to Audrey Hepburn, the actress. To me, she was family. I can live with her through my father. His stories are all about his growing up."

She continues: “The first images I have of her are, interestingly enough, when she was quite young. I remember seeing a photo of her jumping on a trampoline—I believe this was before I understood that she was famous. But I remember thinking that she looked like a friend I wish I could have had.”

Emma has inherited a number of the items belonging to the actress. She revealed that she has: "[Hepburn’s] cashmere turtlenecks, which I adore and wear all throughout the winter . . . And a white antique stuffed teddy bear.”

Emma does of course have the Hepburn look, with arched eyebrows, the Audrey posture and almond eyes. She sees the similarities too, as she sent her interviewer Pamela an email after the interview which read:
"It had been a while since I'd seen one of her films, and the feeling was indeed magical. Somehow, seeing her in her youth and brilliance reminded me that I do, in fact, carry her spirit along with me. Sometimes when I was younger, I felt confused toward what having a grandmother like her could mean in my life. But I am now understanding."
