Jennifer Lawrence Dyes Her Hair Dark - Top Tips From Her Hairdresser Rossano Ferretti

Our girl crush of the moment Jennifer Lawrence has gone dark people. No, not gone to the dark side but actually dyed her locks dark after her award-winning sesh on Sunday night at the Oscars. Straight after winning Best Actress at the 2013 Academy Awards, Jennifer was spotted visiting her hair salon, Rossano Ferretti, for a dramatic colour change.

Lorri Goddard, Colour Director at Rossano Ferretti in LA, who works with Jennifer regularly, took her beautiful sun-drizzled tawny blonde back to the dark colour she created for the role that made her famous as Katniss in The Hunger Games. And wow doesn't it look amazing - in fact us blonde Grazia girls are now very tempted...

Jack Howard, Head Colourist at Rossano Ferretti in London said, “A rather radical change for Jennifer Lawrence after her beautiful sun-kissed Oscar hair, but then she is doing a re-shoot for the Hunger Games movie. When doing such a big colour change it’s important to pay attention to skin tone, eye colour and wardrobing. Jennifer looks great either light or dark and on set she will have a team of make up artists to complement this colour change."

Yes but what about us mere mortals then Jack? "For those at home wanting to take the plunge this season, ask yourself which jewellery you wear most, gold being warmer, silver being cooler - this will help you pick the tone that best suits your skin and bare in mind spring colours and seasonal runway trends.”

“For me when going darker I always like to use a quasi colour such as L'Oréal Dia Richesse which gives the ultimate shine, so is very good for super-dark colours. To recreate this look I would use a mixture of Dia Richesse 4 (brown) and 4.15 (chocolate) with a 9 volume Diactivateur.” You heard it here first girls!

Jack went on to tells us about the upkeep of a colour like this too - "At-home use all over moisture and colour protect treatment products to prolong your colour and maintain shine." He recommends Kérastase Bain Chroma Captive, £15.90. and Shu Uemura Art Of Hair Essence Absolue, £39.50."
